KharisJo says,

How about it Smith? Free airflights to the next book launch? Wouldn't it be a hoot to put faces to the names?

BanjoDan says,

great idea, that would be quite a gathering!

Loon says,

wanna meet Wackjob

Loon says,

complete thevfollowing: I wanna meet.....

Loon says,

wanna hear dan's banjo

Loon says,

wanna pet l2l3's puppy

oopsalittle says,

I wanna meet lisamoans and ask her how and why she worked out her head fits in her microwave.

oopsalittle says,

I wannna meet BanjoDan's wife

lisamoans says,

Perfect, oopsie, perfect

Believe says,

I want to see what happens when Loon, Wackjob, Davio, Steelpony, and Dhani are all in the same room.

Believe says,

Not sure if I'd want to be in that room though.

Level1 says,

Can we Skype this?

ctgoods2 says,

I'm with oops!

Bevvie says,

Believe, I'm sure that I don't want to be in THAT room! But I do want to meet BanjoDan's parrot! And maybe his scarecrow!

Hannahmo says,

That would be interesting ;)
Would there be anyone my age there?

L2L3 says,

Want to meet Loon's daughters, have a beer with Davio and talk about popsicle sticks with Steve. Want to be sure Oops gets there. Will offer Marymc a ride! Want to tip off INS about incoming, northbound flight.

marymc says,

My list is too long. You're all important to me.

L2L3 says,

I think I have a crush on Wackjob;~) Ones I've already met, would like to see again!

catsmeow says,

I have secret crushes on sixers.

L2L3 says,

Not a secret now:-D

catsmeow says,

The secret is who, and there is more than one. Trying to keep the woman of mystery thing going, L2L3. But I will admit I agree with you about Wackjob.:-)

L2L3 says,

Well, if I'm right about personas, there's at least one cat out of the bag... Hmmm...????? Hehehehehe

butterflyxxx says,

I'm flying in from Oz. I want to see DELTA's face.

wackjob says,

pay no attention to the Elephant Man behind the curtain

scarecrow says,

Wackjob is surreal vapors, 7 foot tall. our collective Id

scarecrow says,

i wanna meet Dhani's shrink

oopsalittle says,

I wanna meet everyone - come to New York for Thanksiving and I wanna meet Steve_Anthony in his Superman Jocks

L2L3 says,

I think that's a myth.

Bevvie says,

Imagine the six-word conversations!

Sagacious says,

I want to know what parts of Oz oopsalittle, butterflyxxx ans Kharisjo are from and if there are any other antipodean sixers.

Steve__Anthony says,

Yikes! I wonder who'd be the one wearing the lampshade and NO pants???

Bevvie says,

And who will be eating bacon?

KharisJo says,

@sag - Brisbane, tonight celebrating another great sixer!

I wanna share some bear claw with Contemplative. I wanna meet everybody and find out what a mojo is.

L2L3 says,

Old term was "groove".

KharisJo says,

Thanks L2L3. Celebrations in Brisbane as we Queenslanders have tonight won our sixth straight win over New South Wales (home of Sag) in our annual hotly contested footy comp.

Sagacious says,

This Maroon domination of State of Origin got a little tedious years ago. But, there's always next year. Sigh.

Level1 says,

I think the name tags should just have a few of our Sixes on them. We would recogize the words and then associate the faces with those words :-)

catsmeow says,

We could have all of our little whatever you call them...icons, photo ids, personae... up on a board and take turns trying to match those to the people in the room. A prize for the person who matches the most!

Dhani says,

*Contrary to some, we are all in ONE 'ROOM', whether we meet someday or not. I'm holding a peacepipe, what are you holding cyber-musketeers?!

Level1 says,

I like that idea cats!

Larry_D._Smith says,

Love this idea, it would be a weekend in sixes & sevens for sure. If someone wants to organize, SMITH Mag endorses.... but we can barely keep our virtual world in order much less plan a convention.

Larry_D._Smith says,

Forgot to mention the localized version of a Six-Word Memoir convention - meetups. Start them -- always good to start small in the Six world -- in your areas and send me a report and we'll post on the blog. Eight cities so far:
http://meetup.com/smithmag

three-monkeys says,

Book it.

Loon says,

master of ceremonies......Contemplative? Wackjob?

L2L3 says,

ctgoods. Hands down.

L2L3 says,

Actually, co-hosts. Loon and ctgoods. Decor and social director: marymc.

oopsalittle says,

Jad and I will bring duelling drummmmers

Bevvie says,

BanjoDan can take photographs!

L2L3 says,

BanjoDan could provide the musical entertainment. The bird too.

KharisJo says,

Perhaps some sixers would be wearing more than one nametag?

catsmeow says,

Perhaps one sixer won't have room for all those nametags.

L2L3 says,

Perhaps there will be one name tag wearing several sixers?

Steve__Anthony says,

My name tag: "Yikes!"

Loon says,

Let's meet in ctgoods' kitchen

Bevvie says,

Happy hours in BanjoDan's teepee.

JAD says,

You know most of my comments are last, so I would be the last to show up and say "guys I made it!" With my dancing shoes on and dueling drummer! Right oops!

Believe says,

This all occurring on June 6 no doubt.

Contemplative says,

Would love to meet and share a bearclaw, barring the ebbs and flows of tiredness and pain.
Master of ceremonies? Took me at least six months planning but did arrange a spectacular induction ceremony when I served as High School National Honor Society President. And truly did serve as President and run entire, politely correct?, Council meetings, with staff and psychiatric inpatients numbering 100+. Presentation and design, also one of my hobbies.
And to answer Hannahmo's question: Not your age but definitely could pass for it and enjoy your posts.

Bevvie says,

Okay, it's settled: Contemplative will chair the Program Committee, thus designing the program cover, etc. Volunteers needed. Happy Hour still in BanjoDan's teepee.

BanjoDan says,

friends, the teepee doors are open and my moonshine still is going full blast!

Savita says,

Hannahmo, I think I'm your age! Or, at least, around your age.

Sagacious says,

I'm thinking the Darling Harbour Convention Centre in Sydney. It's close to the Harbour Bridge and Opera House PLUS there's no horrible 24 hour, deep-vein thrombosis inducing plane flight for ol' sag! :-D

marymc says,

When I win the lottery, I'll send you all tickets to wherever it is. Promise.

oopsalittle says,

hey great idea sag - or perhaps we could all meet halfway..
marymc - I ditto that

butterflyxxx says,

think we should convene in the home of Smith - is that New York? - and camp in their offices for a day or two. Sag, I'll bring some pressure stockings to Sydney for the flight.

oopsalittle says,

sure I can sleep under the desk with a sleeping bag - no probs. Happy with that suggestion!

L2L3 says,

New York is very expensive. Some of us would end up sleeping under desks.

Level1 says,

The outer boroughs are not too bad. I think there may even be a bed and breakfast in the Bronx now.

Dhani says,

*I rent a ramshackle ranch house sleeps six in the Mexican boondocks off the Rivieracoastline, for memoirists accoustomed to roughing it.

StacyJane says,

This is the coolest comment thread. I am pretty quiet here but I feel like I am listening to a group of people who have known each other for years. It would be amazing to put faces to all the names. Wow Smith!

KharisJo says,

I've only been part of the Smith community for a few months, so it's really been a hoot to be in the most commented spot for a few days. This website is such fun and everyone's so creative and encouraging of each other. Must say when I first wrote the post I was imagining what it would be like to be at a conference and run into a man in a suit with "Loon" on his lapel! (Love to meet ya Loon!)And if we don't get to do the real thing we can always have a chuckle together online. Blessings, all.

catsmeow says,

Do you really think Loon wears a suit???? Somehow I doubt it.

Loon says,

Bought a suit in Ann Arbor in 1972. Still wear it, weddings, funerals. Been 4 years without shoes. Many decades without common sense.

Loon says,

Bought a suit in Ann Arbor in 1972. Still wear it, weddings, funerals. Been 4 years without shoes. Many decades without common sense.

L2L3 says,

Loon would be well-suited, regardless.

catsmeow says,

Well-suited to all the rest of us reprobates, in any case.

ChristieMeB says,

I'm envisioning an AA meeting in NYC multiplied by about 1,325 and definitely rainbow socks and tiaras somewhere littered in the bunch. Loon and BanjoDan must be related somehow. As is Bevvie and Solfege and Solitude. Dhani would charm snakes and I do believe contemplative is a mind reader....so that would be great entertainment....I can only make it if it's on a weekday but I'm sure Believe would make it happen by her faith alone and thisgirl wouldn't be gone :)

Amapola says,

I'll be wearing my incognito suit, and will have a kiosk for free hugs distribution. I definitely want to blind-date a sixer, so I hope one of you guys volunteer to make my dream come true. If I have to roommate with someone, then my preference goes to Bevvie :-))

marymc says,

I'm 4 hours outside of NYC. 2 guest rooms and plenty of wreckroom floor for those with sleeping bags. We could all hop the train and start the party early.

skyrocketjones says,

OO! OO! I'm in! Best party ever. JEBCRG and I can join BanjoDan and take requests for the band to sing (I think it's JEBCRG who sings, too...)! Having a thought here: While we're at it, we could set up some Karaoke time in an adjoining room for other singers/musicians we aren't aware of yet. So this might have to go on for a couple days, OK maybe more! otherwise, how we gonna visit with everyone?

oopsalittle says,

I'm going to start saving for this!

'said it, then it became real'

Bethe says,

Oooh. Love the idea of a sixers convention.
Any where. Any place. I'm there.

Level1 says,

ChristieMeB, your comment sums it all up delightfuly :-)

KharisJo says,

As we're about to disappear off the board folks, can only say it's been fun and will reconvene next year, 6th June as Believe suggested. Photos with name tags to be posted then everyone. Blessings :)
