I agree, and that's why i started by saying that i love Christ. For the record, i do consider myself a Christian, but i have become increasingly uncomfortable with that term over the last few years, because it associates me with so many really terrible people and events. The Westboro Baptist Church considers itself Christian. Christmas, with all its greed and commercialism and materialism and cheap plastic crap, is billed as a Christian holiday. Then we have the Crusades, the Christian support of slavery in the US, the list goes on and on. While Christians have done a lot of really awesome things in the world, there are (and always have been, i am sure) lots of Christians who behave as though they've never met Christ. And the tragedy is that they are the ones who always seem to find the spotlight.
these six words leapt out from the sermon I heard in church this morning. Thanks Pastor Jodi. (I attend a Baptist church which has two lady ministers on the pastoral team.)We can live with peace and joy no matter...
