Curved spine, my metaphor for life.

Backstory

My scoliosis became the "frame" for the way I look at life: twists, turns, discomfort and frequent readjustments. This is the first picture in which I actually wanted my spinal curve to show. I face a curved path into the future, on the cover of my memoir, Off Kilter, published in 2008 by Pearlsong Press, turning a so-called "deformity" into my writing voice.

Hi.
I'm sixteen and I have scoliosis too. It took me a while before I actually took pictures or wore clothes that showed my curvature. It's true when they say that the journey to self-acceptance is long and hard. I congratulate you for turning this setback in life into a catapult that launched you forward. I wish you the best.
