Steve__Anthony says,

And I lost my heart to Michigan. I LOVE that state and the people.

marymc says,

I lost my lunch in California.

RaineeRose says,

I was born in Michigan, and I'll always be a Michigan girl at heart. New York is NOT Michigan. :)

LOL mary!

RaineeRose says,

But I did lose my heart there while I was graduate school. A fellow grad student took it, and honestly, I don't think I'll ever be the same.

*end of sob story* :)

Steve__Anthony says,

The people are so damn real to me. I don't feel that way about Southern people as much. -- And your summers are a poor man's paradise.

RaineeRose says,

What part of Michigan? I'm from the Upper Peninsula. I grew up on Lake Superior, which I think is by far the best of the Great Lakes!

oopsalittle says,

mary - lol - you make my day (or night...when i manage to get onto smith..)
RaineeRose - lovely - another nice mem..:)

maebelline says,

I left my "soul" there! Left my family (parents sibs) in the Detroit area and started my family in Northwestern WI!! That's a big lake to get around! I miss my Motown Beat!

RaineeRose says,

I'm really hoping to go back there someday. Full circle, you know...

three-monkeys says,

"I lost my heart in Michigan," but where did you get it back again? (Hope you did. Great memoir). :)

RaineeRose says,

three-monkeys: New York. Truthfully, I'm not sure it's the same heart, but it's a good one!

Thanks!

Believe says,

Never been to Michigan. Just recently went as far as Ohio. I seem to only visit seaside states on a regular basis.
