Hello_AJ says,

we always want to focus on what we have lost. shift your focus to what you gained from having her in your life. you are who you are today because of her. we are who we are because of the people in our lives. because of that, they will never really leave us. they are inside of our hearts always, and in everything we do because they made us who we are ;-)

L2L3 says,

Focusing on what you've lost is absolutely okay. You'll get past it in your own time. Time does heal, but sometimes it feels like forever. So sorry for your loss.

JAD says,

recently lost a brother, so I can relate. Someone said recently, when it's your mother, it's much harder to accept. Focus on the wonderful memories.

ctgoods2 says,

you're in my thoughts. wishing you peaceful feelings.

oopsalittle says,

I'm so sorry...

Contemplative says,

For me, grief is a process, a journey through many stages. Recognizing any feeling, including numb is along a continuum of healing. My best wishes and condolences. Thank you for sharing and being true to who you are right now.

jebcrg says,

January will be two years since I lost my husband to cancer. Contemplative said it beautifully. There is a book Called Tear Soup. It looks like a big, children's picture book. Simple in it's wisdom, you will want to keep it forever, and you will want to buy it for anyone you know who loses a loved one. Hope that a lifetime of wonderful memories will eventually soften your grief.

lgp120 says,

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I so understand your numbness and wish you a brighter tomorrow where you can smile again and reflect on the joy your mother brought into your life. And she is always with you, always beside you, you just can't see her. Peace be with you and yours my sweet.

JoAllison says,

I am so sorry. I recently lost my brother. I know the numbness. Just do one moment at a time. Donm't worry about more right now.
