L2L3 says,

If the answer is "No", under any circumstances, get rid of the guns. If you own guns and have never asked this of yourself, get rid of the guns because you are a fool.

marymc says,

I could, and I'm a very good shot.

lost2many says,

To protect my life, yes.

oopsalittle says,

that's a very scary, confronting question.
making me reflect...

marymc says,

make the first shot count.

L2L3 says,

Confrontation would imply personalization. This was not. Had a very similar conversation with someone recently, who, by the way, is a complete gun-owning idiot. In addition, I have the misfortune to live in a state, governed by self aggrandizing politicians, who thought that a law allowing guns to be carried, concealed, in bars, was a good idea. I thought of that law as providing confirmation to the other 49 states, that Tennessee is indeed a place as backward, ignorant and redneck as the reputation it carries.

oopsalittle says,

so glad don't have that problem in australia... now knives - that's another story....

L2L3 says,

My friend's sister and family live in Australia. Have heard lots of cool things about your country, especially about healthcare, prevention, etc. Seems like a whole different and healthier, attitude.

oopsalittle says,

yeah I hear a lot of people complain about so many things here but I reckon we have it pretty good. Currently they are getting more police out on the streets at night in the city (melb)to stop knife attacks and also at the moment we have 'glassing' attacks in nightclubs. they're trialling plastic glasses now - so yeah I believe we do have a good attitude whereby issues are addressed with workable strategies for the safety of all. healthcare is getting a bit of a battering at the moment (nurses may be going on strike for more (well deserved) pay but generally medically lots of good options.
