She entered six without her Mama.

Backstory

Today was her 6th birthday. This baby daughter of mine, a miraculous surprise late in life. No kisses and hugs from Mama to usher in her 6th year; a painful consequence of misjudging a man's heart and true intent.

NumbrOneAunt says,

shell, your love for her.shines brightly in everything you write about her. not trying to deny your pain at not having her with you today, but i expect that she carries your hugs and kisses with her everywhere. here's a {{{hug}}} for you. and she's a major cutie pie, by the way :)

KharisJo says,

she is beautiful like her Mama. {hugs} Shell.

ShellDeFelice says,

Thanks ladies, I needed those hugs!

jl333 says,

Happy birthday to your daughter.

JAD says,

She's a doll.

Dragonflower says,

Love the bow! I know birthdays are special days. I didn't insist on much, but I did insist on always getting to spend my daughter's bday with her on the actual day. Her dad was really great about things like that. Six is the best age!

BTW, I thought this was going to be about a memoir she entered without your permission! I was thinking, kids these days! haha. Happiest birthday to your daughter!

oopsalittle says,

So sweet

notjustagirlintheworld says,

in the tradition of my Dutch father, congratulations to you. My youngest turned 13 yesterday. Yikes, three true teenagers!

canadafreeze says,

Dragonflower says,

NJ, I wish you the best. You are a brave woman!
