My beautician refuses to make me blond because of my dark roots. Well I will insist upon it. Everyone I know, including my sisters went blond years ago. I'm still brown and how dull is that?
I am sure you will look lovely. What a nice birthday present for yourself.
Once, a long time ago, I went a little too blonde and it looked more like gray to me! I remember it was on Mother's day weekend and I felt like a granny when we went out to brunch the next day. I was mid-30s at the time. My hair color is what has been called mousy brown, or dirty dishwater blonde. I was going for golden blonde highlights but my hairdresser put in way too many, and way too light. I am somewhat pale too, so I looked pretty washed out.
Another time, I did the highlights myself from a highlight kit and my hair turned an awful color of yellowish orange. I was having a job interview that Monday and did it on the weekend. I thought I looked good until I went out to dinner the day I highlighted. Went into the restroom, under the fluorescent lights, and onmygoodness!
I am certain you will have none of this trouble! Best wishes for a nice birthday!!
@DE I changed my mine! I think I will get blond highlights in it instead and let the hair dresser do it. I also have very fair skin and I may look washed out as well if I go all blond. My hairdresser said she likes the contrast I have with the brown and she said it brings out my eyes which are blue. Maybe I should go with what she thinks. Highlights it will be.
these six words leapt out from the sermon I heard in church this morning. Thanks Pastor Jodi. (I attend a Baptist church which has two lady ministers on the pastoral team.)We can live with peace and joy no matter...

My hairdresser said to wait til I was more than 50% gray before going blond. Um....NO! So I do it myself.lovelylizard says,

@marymc what shade blonde would cover a medium brown with a little gray in it? I don't want to turn red, but it can happen. Also what brand.JAD says,
Good luck.Dragonflower says,
