Backstory
This is a paraphrase of a comment made by singer/songwriter Josh Ritter on NPR's World Cafe this evening as he spoke about how his divorce prompted some of the most intensely creative periods he'd ever experienced. He used the term "like a mountain moving over my head" to describe the combination of guilt and depression he went through. To me, this is exactly why we long to write our stories- be they in song, prose or poesy: we are emotional beings who are compelled to speak of our mountains and our thrashing seas and our dew-bejeweled roses. For us, words focus our hearts and our minds toward the same objective: experiencing humanity as healed, whole beings.

I love, " our thrashing seas"... where I find myself right now. It takes me a while though, just like having the perfect comeback in a heated discussion. I never do, until well after the fact.Wench says,
Feeling pretty blessed to live so close to the World Cafe. If you ever make it to Philly, it's worth dropping by open mic night.Dean6805 says,
