Backstory

Where I come from it's not how many miles, it's how long it'll take to get there.

ShellDeFelice says,

My parents are from Pennsylvania and they used to say, "Down the road a piece." which meant anything from a mile to ten!

MO_Thoughts2 says,

Time here too. I'm not sure I could even guess miles to most places.

Dragonflower says,

I always just guess a mile a minute for those folks who insist on how many miles. It makes them happy, usually. My dad used to say, it's as far as it takes. Iowa guy.

accidentaltourist says,

Where I live it's about time too....ten miles rarely means ten minutes. Once I worked at a place that a co-worker used to refer to as "two dirt roads from anywhere."
