Watched a boy bury his hero.

Backstory

My friend's husband died this week. He was 57. Brain tumor. 14 months ago, he was given a year. His family kept to themselves, tending to him privately. Today, their son struggled to sum up his dad, his hero. He had words written but put them aside and spoke from his broken heart. He openly sobbed; drawing us in to his loss and pain. Urging us to live our lives the way his father had taught him. Honestly. With dignity. Openly loving our family and friends. With purpose. Ron Kadah's legacy is his beautiful boy who became a man before he was ready, but was taught well.

Sagacious says,

I refer to your question about feeling others' pain. It took 12 months for a brain tumour to kill my father. I'm feeling the boy in your backstory's pain right now. :'-(

Am so sorry, Sag.

On a similar journey. WTF. Thank younger honoring this man. Putting a caring, productive young man into society was an accomplishment.

devastatingly beautiful

One of those stories that should be fiction, but all too true.
