Flirted with death all my life.
Backstory
Yesterday, I met with a new doctor. My family doctor had recently retired, so in our first meeting, my new doctor wanted to know my medical history. I listed the injuries, broken bones, car accidents, medical procedures and surgeries, number of live births, and medical conditions that I don't consider to be anything out of the ordinary.It never occurred to me that many people go through life without all these little brushes with mortality until I was asked to list mine.
