Mom without Dad. My new normal.

Backstory

I'm in CA. She's doing really well. I sucked it up and sat in their apartment for 4 hours after getting off the plane. I didn't lose it til now. Sitting in a hotel room, thinking about her without him. Thinking about me without him.

TawnyPort says,

Having lost my dad almost 2 years ago, I am heartened by how well my mother has adjusted to life without him. With some time the happy memories that you have of your dad will help to sustain you going forward. I am truly sorry for your loss.

DynamicDbytheC says,

It is harder for you because you are doing this alone. I am in CA and if I was close, I'd come and have a glass of wine and a sob with you. Painful times.

marymc says,

Thank you Tawny. I know you speak the truth. D, you are a truly wonderful person.

notjustagirlintheworld says,

marymc - I am sorry for your loss and the changes it has (and will) bring for your family.

notyouraveragegirl says,

I am sorry for your loss Mary. Having lost my dad a little more than 2 years ago, I know how painful the void can be. Although it will never be filled again, with time, it will be okay.

scribbling_scribe says,

Sending thoughts and }{ugs your way, marymc.
