Today was really good, I think?

Backstory

So today, everything seem to be better than normal. Everyone was laughing. Even teachers seemed to be in a good mood. I smiled most of the day. It seemed great; relaxed, chill, lighthearted. It was weird and some of my friends noticed it too. But I have this uneasy felling... I'm really not doing as well in school right now as I would like. Its easier in the quarter, I have time, but how much? I goofed off a lot today. It was fun, but what could I have gotten done if I hadn't? Am I crazy to think this way? That the one time things weren't so bad, even enjoyable, I'm regretting it just slightly? I don't know what to think. I feel kind of guilty...

Dragonflower says,

Pure perfectionist reaction.

Yay for you for goofing off and enjoying yourself for once. Not to worry, it won't become a trend. You will just have to trust me on this, OK?

OK? Promise? :)

PS, you helped me so much about my group exercise phobia yesterday. I feel 1000 times better. I did my yoga at home with a video and feel great.

Layne says,

OK, I promise:) you better be right though!:)

And im so glad I could help! Thats great that you found something that you can enjoy and feel comfortable doing:) I actually took the last week off from my usual fitness routine and I realized that as much as I don't like getting too strong (which i've had challenges with throughout these past few months), I dont like losing what I have already gained even more. So, I've learned to accept that that's just part of who I am and I'm proud of it:) so cheers to the both of us for acceptance!

Dragonflower says,

Yay us!

Just to reassure you about not becoming a goof-off permanently. Someone once told me, that could never happen to me because my "best" is so far above what others expect, that even if I slacked off, I'd still be way ahead. This has proven true. As perfectionists, we seldom see the pressure we put on ourselves. You are doing FANTASTIC finding a healthy balance for yourself. Proud of you, Layne!

Layne says,

Thank you DE. It really means a lot:)
