Office drug dealer. Getting a rep.

Backstory

A carry a wide array of over the counter drugs (in small quantities) in my purse. If what ails you is not enough to keep you or send you home (or to the hospital) the chances are very good that I have a pill that will ease your pain or discomfort in by bag of tricks. A product of being a mommy first -- yes I do have a band-aid, and a tissue too -- and generally believing there is a pill for anything that ails you, and if one is good two is almost always better. My children will tell you that my answer to ever complaint is "take some Motrin." Come to think of it, I am kind of pusher at home too.

My former coworker was like that. I miss her.

Loved the unexpected backstory, once dated a Drug Rep. Detail Person. The back of her car easily filled a pharmacy.

I can relate to this. I was a big hit at a barbecue once because I had dental floss. Which is not a drug, but who expects to find someone at random who carries dental floss?

notjustagirlintheworld says,

must confess AT that is NOT in my purse, but now thinking of adding it :D

canadafreeze says,

My purse is my perhaps bag - perhaps I'll need this or that, so I carry it in my bag.

jl333 says,

This is totally screaming for another question in the Question category ..."items you carry in your purse". You should post it.

lovelylizard says,

Yes, you must add dental floss to your bag of tricks. Think like McGyver, there was nothing he couldn't get out of with these three items: dental floss, a bic pen and chewing gum. Personally, I also carry aspirin and xanax, just in case....

I was the gal who just happened to have a little needle and thread kit in my bag at a work related banquet. The girl had ripped the back of her pant suit and I guess I saved the evening as we went in the ladies room and I sewed her back up. I doubled stitched the material but cautioned her not to sit down until she went on stage for her speech. She said she would be forever grateful and I believed she was. My stitches held thank God!

Dragonflower says,

Sometimes I switch from my ever favorite tote to a smaller, more refined purse. Then you know what happens every time? Every single time?

Yep. Something I need is in my big bag. Thinking of just always taking it with me and just leaving it in the car.

ba_miracle says,

When working HR I had a drawer full of otc remedies. My first question would typically be "Are you trying to get out of work or feel better and stay"? Helped move the conversation in the right direction more quickly ;-)

In this family sewing emergencies go to dad or Oma (my mom) or wait for our babysitter who once sewed me into a dress that showing just a bit to much. I am stick to traditional meds :D
