The Canadian government is removing the penny from circulation on February 4. Although it will still be legal tender, the penny will no longer be made or distributed. A penny saved is a penny earned will soon lose its meaning.
When I was little girl, my going to bed ritual was saying goodnight to my dad and picking out the pennies from his outstretched hand. His change from his pocket for the day. Always leave one for seed he'd say.
It makes me sad. Everything will be rounded UP and in the long run, the consumer will be lining somebody else's pockets while emptying theirs. Messing with a country's currency is unforgivable.
these six words leapt out from the sermon I heard in church this morning. Thanks Pastor Jodi. (I attend a Baptist church which has two lady ministers on the pastoral team.)We can live with peace and joy no matter...

Nope, that surely doesn't! There's been rumors about taking the US penny out of circulation as well. I hope that does not happen down here.Believe says,
It costs more than a penny to make a penny. I like pennies, but can understand why they are considering removing them from circulation.treehugger says,
