Cried while buying perfume. For dad.

Backstory

I only see my parents once year (usually for Christmas). The distance is too expensive to bridge more often (I live in Europe, they live in the Caribbean).

Today I was buying my dad's Xmas present -it's always the same after-shave (his favourite) and it lasts him precisely a year. I'm the one who always buy it for him.

As I was queuing to pay, I found myself fighting the tears.

I miss him so much!

Monday I will finally be home for Christmas eve, and I'm sure I'll cry again.

My tears are because he hasn't been here for years to buy after-shave for. It was always Old Spice. Am still a sucker for a whiff of it. Treasure your tears and your time...

As a child, I used to buy my dad an Old Spice kit every Christmas. I grew fond of the smell so much that I wore some a couple of times.
