This is so good! You are absolutely so creative with words and images! The one about checking self esteem and bounced self worth was fantastic too! (i hope i got that right--relying on memory....) Even your explanation of your sixer name was great (use of the The....loved it!)

When I couldn't match a sock during laundry folding time, I used to tell my daughter they didn't have friends and we had to be on the lookout for them. It was always a reunion when we were able to match them up again! Your memoir is a grown up version of that! I'm going to help out now and play some smooth soul music near my sock drawer....

Stripes and argyle...talk about your mixed marriages! Well, the heart wants what the heart wants. :)

Thanks everyone :)

@Autumn22 I appreciate your kind words. Looking back at old sixes I think I worked hard enough to craft sixes well. & good memory! But it was self esteem bounces when checking self worth. Get it? Because self esteem goes up & down / checks- worth (price) / checks bounce. I just felt like explaining that. It might be fave memoir.
PS That's so cute with your daughter, you should have told her that mismatched socks made good friends too or at least that's what I tell myself. Plus I thought of this as my lonely sock was hanging out with all her couple friends. Since I did all my laundry at six this morning instead of my philosophy paper or the ten page paper due tomorrow.
