BackstoryMy daughter, a senior, took a written test in her Music class. She and another girl were the first to finish. They quietly turned their tests into the teacher. Independently, they returned to their desks and took out "Catch 22" which they are reading for an AP Literature class and started reading silently. The teacher looked up a couple minutes later and told them to put their books away and just sit. They spent the next 30 minutes staring at the walls and into space while the rest of the class was allowed to finish their test.
Yet another flaw in our school system.
