No, never down, because there is no down. Nor up. But like all the other stuff zipping through space, our system will continue to go OUT. And that concept is far out.
Presently, cosmologists think not. Their bleak prediction is that the expansion will continue ad infinitum until everything is so "spaced out", the universe simply won't be able to get it together again. Alas, the story of my life, too. But what do cosmologists really know? They're just along for the ride with the rest of us.
"Every day is a winding road." I could also find fault with the use of "everyday" in the title and lyrics (as it's frequently seen)...but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, because that might be a web user error and not hers. On further study, "everyday" changes the meaning of every line that uses it...which could be the intent. (this is me, overthinking)
That song has some great turns of phrase in it though. Ex.: "he was high on intellectualism...I've never been there but the brochure looks nice."
You're good, AT. I'm going to have to keep on my grammar toes with you. Yes, "lay back" is egregious. Can't let Sheryl slide on that one. But frankly, I've probably made the "everyday" adjective or noun mistake many times. English can be maddening. You undoubtedly noted Sheryl uses "everybody" correctly. So, it's rather easy to make the mistake with "everyday".
Now, another question. "I've never been there but the brochure looks nice." She's never been WHERE?
P.S. – You're good, but don't stop being "bad" either. :->
I hitched a ride with a vending machine repair man
He says he's been down this road more than twice
He was high on intellectualism
I've never been there but the brochure looks nice
Jump in, let's go
Lay back, enjoy the show
Everybody gets high, everybody gets low,
These are the days when anything goes
Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer to feeling fine
He's got a daughter he calls Easter
She was born on a Tuesday night
I'm just wondering why I feel so all alone
Why I'm a stranger in my own life
Jump in, let's go
Lay back, enjoy the show
Everybody gets high, everybody gets low
These are the days when anything goes
Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer to feeling fine
I've been swimming in a sea of anarchy
I've been living on coffee and nicotine
I've been wondering if all the things I've seen
Were ever real, were ever really happening
Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer to feeling fine
Last weekend I met an amazing woman. She is the cantor at the synagogue where my nephew was bar mitzvahed. When she found out we were from Philly, she came over to our table at the luncheon to play ‘Jewish...
