Unwrapping memories with each cherished ornament.

Backstory

I was putting up the tree last night and came across some personalized ornaments that I've collected over the years. I have one with the names of my husband and I for each year we've been together. I also have ones with our dogs' names on them. We lost our old girlie in January, so unwrapping her ornaments was a bittersweet moment. There was a sniffle or two, then sweet memories of her goofy ways and loving manner. What a gorgeous way to decorate- with tokens of love.

When I find the priceless ornaments my boys made in Kindergarden I just start to tear up. Where did the time go? They had a wonderful teacher who always thought of the parents. She knew one day we would cherish these and we do. I saved everything and they are in the attic.

One of my joys of decorating the tree ...

I had a few tears this year too. One of our dogs passed in January, so when I unwrapped all the ornaments with her name on them, it hit me hard. It was both sweet and bittersweet, which is how it goes with memories I suppose.
