Living in parents' basement by evening.

Backstory

Exciting times in the life of the Ryan family. Some day, we'll all look back at this and laugh. Maybe. I really hope so.

Great observation, H. Wench, this too shall pass.

Wench says,

Thanks, all. It's also torture because my parents hate each other and fight constantly and because my mom freaks out over things like leaving a cup in the sink when you visit for dinner. Actually freaks out.

Then follow her rules while in her house to keep as much harmony, as possilbe. As for them fighting amongst themselves? Play music loudly in the basement to drown them out. I know it sucks right now, but it's better than the alternative.

Wench says,

I'll do my darnedest. It's amazing and unpredictable what will make her lose her shi*.

Wench says,

For the record, I am extremely grateful. Living in my parents' basement, all in one place, safe, and rent-free while we get back on our feet is wonderful and I'm not entirely sure where we would be otherwise. And it is incredibly kind of them to let us stay.

But I've also been living independently since I was seventeen, have been married for over two years, and am a mom, so although I am hugely grateful, part of this still sucks. It just does. Let me have that, dammit. =P
