Farewell from one JR to another.

Backstory

My initials are JR and my husband started calling me that when we first met; he still does. When Dallas began its original run in 1978, Larry Hagman got a lot of mileage out of playing the infamous JR Ewing. His death yesterday reminded me of when I first heard about the other JR; I wasn't a regular viewer but I was at a bar when the "Who shot JR?" episode aired. We all had a laugh at the fact that I shared a nickname with such a nefarious, yet somehow likeable character. Rest in peace, Larry.

Wow, this is the first I'm hearing of Larry's passing. He was a wonderful actor and a quirky human (aren't we all?). He will be missed.

JAD says,

Strange, but at the time didn't watch too many JR episodes. My show was I Dream of Jennie. Yes he will be missed.

JAD, I didn't have a tv when Dallas was being aired. I shunned television for about 10 years of my life. Just like you, my show was I Dream of Jeannie. The Jeannie got on my nerves sometimes because she was so dingy. If I had magical powers, I would rule the world, not mess with an astronaut.

JAD says,

DDC, we would rule the world together:) Love the backstory favepeep.
