While dealing with bullies is, unfortunately, part of growing up, when the person being bullied - I will not use the word victim - feels particuarly threatened, parents, teachers, freinds, please listen, they are asking for your help. You must do whatever you can up to and including changing schools for them, if necessary, to stop the abuse.

Please and Stop are two words bullies will never understand. Time to get others involve like LovelyLizard said.

Ouch. So hard to watch them endure.

Thanks all. We are talking to the guidance counselor and teachers are aware. The counselor has met repeatedly with the parents. The "bully" is a girl with a lot of pent up sadness and anger, I think. My daughter has tried to ignore her, but, as all of you know, it's tough -- especially for a 13-year-old. Sympathy/empathy only goes so far when it's your daughter under "attack." Thank you.

I'm glad you are stepping up and doing something about it. I was picked on and teased most of my school years--all through high school graduation. I have never forgotten those that belittled, teased, and made fun of me. Bullies suck. Period.
