I believe in re-encarnation Dhani, and that helps... still pain is also a spiritual experience... it reminds us that we need to let go - but it ain't easy - it takes time and acceptance - mourning, that is.
No, I beg to disagree regarding 'mourning' and human grief. One of my spiritual goals is to come to a better understanding of what 'pain' actually is. (I had two-year's chance to deal with it when I had cancer) Is all pain & suffering merely an illusion to be forgiven, as some spiritual texts state?
It's a bit complex - What I understand is that the illusion is in the attachment to pain, but the experience of it is real. Hard to explain without a good conversation - the pain I'm referring to is rooted in emotions more than in physical nature.
Actually the key in my Buddhist practice is to understand the nature of 'delusions' - which is our created, distorted perception of certain reality - In my humble knowledge of my spiritual practice, delusions are rooted in ignorance, which is what separates us from finding truth. For example, worrying about things that 'might' happen makes us create scenarios that are filtered through the interpretations of our ego. Those scenarios only exist in our perception and not in the real objective existence of the object of our delusion. There's a lot of spiritual knowledge on the process of dying, and one of the most difficult things that we 'lay beings' experience is how to comprehend the mere fact of it, and how we deal with its acceptance.
these six words leapt out from the sermon I heard in church this morning. Thanks Pastor Jodi. (I attend a Baptist church which has two lady ministers on the pastoral team.)We can live with peace and joy no matter...
