Che da un pugno di metallo scintillante, l’uranio, si possa tirar fuori tanta energia quanta se ne trae da una montagna di carbone sporco è certamente cosa affascinante, ma questo fenomeno ha un compagno di strada meno affascinante che è la radioattività. E’ dal 1896, dall’anno cioè della scoperta di Becquerel, che non siamo riusciti a vincere la sfida scientifica di dominare la radioattività. Da qui il rischio per le popolazioni ed i lavoratori, che è superfluo illustrare a coloro che vivono nel sito della centrale nucleare del Garigliano.
