“Wishing I didn’t love Krispy Kremes.” Six Words in the World

From themed contests, like Talbots’ call for memoirs about your beloved denim jeans, to recommendations from book-lovin’ librarians like Sarah, the shapes and form people apply to the Six-Word Memoir project are always just a Google Alert away. Here are some of our recent finds.

“Wishing I didn’t love Krispy Kremes.” Rachelle Gardner declares her love for memoirs–and Krispy Kreme donuts–in a recent post on her blog, “Rants & Ramblings: On Life as a Literary Agent,” in which she invited her readers to share their six-word memoirs. The last time we checked, she has rounded up 221 comments, each with a new memoir.

“Thought we would still be golf-carting.” A touching use of six-word memoirs: Beth and Jennifer, who lost their friend Kara to leukemia, honor her memory every year by participating in Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk, and this year, their team T-shirts will feature Six-Word Memoirs written by friends about Kara.

“Our Father who art in heaven.” In what once seemed among the more surprising uses of Six-Word Memoirs, and now seems almost second nature among the literary, religious set, a member of a Facebook group called “Guardian Angels of Education” has suggested six words for Jesus. As always, we say amen to six.
