“Mac and cheese, morning, noon, night…” — The Six-Word MOMoir Challenge

Friday, April 30th, 2010

By Larry Smith

Whether you are a mother or just have one, everyone has a six-word mom story to tell—a “Six-Word MOMoir.” Once again, SMITH Mag is teaming up with TruuMomConfessions and Postcards From Yo Momma for this year’s Six-Word MOMoir challenge. We’ll choose our favorite 6 six-word stories about being a mom or your relationship with your own mother. Each winner will get a book of their choice from one of the above sites, or a T-shirt with his or her MOMoir on it from our partner, Spreadshirt.

For some inspiration, we reached out to celebrity mommas, authors, and some of the web’s most prolific mommy bloggers to get the ball rolling.

• “Doctor, psychologist, referee, loving drill sargeant.” —Juju Chang, host, Good Morning America
• “I can’t stop kissing my kids.” —Daphne Brodgdon, Coolmom
• “Getting remarried, forever a single mom.” —Rachel Sarah, Singlemomseeking
• “Mommy mayhem: incredible gratitude, unbounded love.” —Mallika Chopra, founder, Intent
• “Goodbye perky boobs, nice knowing you.” —Liz Gumbinner, Mom-101
• “Relentless joy, ceaseless pleasure, endless promise.” —Leah Klungness, Singlemommyhood.com
• “Mac and cheese, morning, noon, night…” —Alicia Ybarbo, Today’s Moms
• “Best things I got from sex.” —Kristen Chase, the Mominatrix, Motherhood Uncensored

Unquestionably believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while people consider worries that they plainly do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks

I wanted to create you that very small note to finally give many thanks once again for these gorgeous basics you’ve discussed on this site. This is remarkably open-handed with people like you to offer without restraint what exactly many of us could possibly have distributed as an e book to help make some dough for their own end, precisely given that you might have tried it if you ever decided. The smart ideas likewise served as the fantastic way to understand that other people online have the same fervor much like my own to see a little more when considering this issue. I believe there are lots of more pleasant occasions up front for many who see your site.
