Let son seek his own muse.
Backstory
My son is on a path that I wouldn't have chosen for him; I know how talented he is and how much more he’s capable of. Although he doesn’t really like his job, he’s staying there because he makes decent money. I am proud of his work ethic and the fact that he’s dependable. His artistic ability first showed up in high school and we were told he could have a career as an artist if he so chose. Thus far, he has not gone in that direction. For a long while, I suggested different education options, areas of study, entry-level job leads in art-related fields, etc. I've known for some time that I need to let go and allow him to find his own way. I will always be available if he wants my help, but for now I'll just watch from a safe distance. And have my fingers crossed.

I have struggled with similar feelings over the last year towards my own son and his choices as well. I've finally gotten to the place where I've that he must find his own path.Level1 says,
"I've realized that," I meant to type. Damn iPod keyboard is TOO small!
