"Let not your heart be troubled."

Backstory

A few weeks ago, I was quietly crying in a taxi, and the sweet driver got out and opened the door for me. Without the two of us exchanging any words of a personal nature during the ride, this compassionate and kind person said these six to me as he took my hand to help me out of the cab.

Believe says,

I love this. Do you know the song that it is from?

Believe says,

It is a favorite song of mine.

Elisa_Shevitz says,

No, I don't know it ... will check it out, thanks!

Believe says,

It is the first line to the second verse of "His Eye is on the Sparrow". Beautiful old (OLD) spiritual song. It's like Amazing Grace in a way. Hauntingly beautiful.

Elisa_Shevitz says,

Ah, found it. Written in 1905? Well, Believe, my first six-word memoir ever was "Overly romantic soul, born wrong era." Very telling, right? Thanks again. Wishing you happy holidays, and "let not your heart be troubled" in 2012!

translator says,

ALL MY REPLIES IN SIX WORDS!

SOUNDS LIKE BIBLE IN SIX WORDS!

translator says,

IT IS FROM THE BIBLE!

LET NOT YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED! YOU BELIEVE IN ME, BELIEVE ALSO IN THE FATHER WHO SENT ME... IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY!

I HAD TO BETRAY MY SIX WORD COMMITMENT TO SAY THAT!

tonyglim says,

Jesus said: "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me" (John 14:1). "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" (John 14:27).

I like this memoir of yours and your backstory. Both are beautiful.
