She's gone. I have her hands.

Backstory

I lost my beloved Mother 2 years ago and it still breaks my heart. She was my best friend and I miss her terribly. When I look down at my hands I see hers. I always tell myself she is always holding my hands in hers. Love you Mother!

I remember looking at my mother's hand holding my grandmother's hand and putting mine next to theirs. Thank you for reminding me of that moment. I, too, miss my mother every day and I lost her 13 years ago.

I don't have her hands or don't remember them anymore; she died young 25 years ago. But, I do remember having dinner with friends of friends about 10 years ago and the woman next to me had my mother's hands. Tears ran down my face uncontrollably. When asked, I related why I was crying. The woman nodded with a look of great compassion; I then learned that she'd lost her daughter less than 6 months earlier...

And it is a quite a lovely gift that you can feel so connected to her in this way. I wish you courage on your journey.

Thanks for sharing your memories with me. We are all lucky to have wonderful memories. I know not everyone does. I will miss her everyday as long as I live. Thanks again, I need all the courage I can get!
