favepeep says,

As my brother said, "Mom's death is the one we'll compare all others to." So sorry for your loss.

Sagacious says,

Thanks for your sentiments. My mother and I weren't close, but it affected me more than I ever thought it would.

KharisJo says,

sorry for your loss Sag.

MomGail says,

So sorry for your loss. It's been 5 years since my mom passed away, and I miss her more than ever.

Sagacious says,

My mother died about 8 years ago. I guess the point I'm really trying to make is that despite the fact that I felt that I had no feelings for my mother, the way I felt on seeing her dead body suggested that I actually DID. I really didn't expect to feel that way.

MrsPremise says,

Sag, I think we had similar feelings about our mothers. My mother died in August and I am finally ready to feel some kindness toward some of the good memories. It will never be like everyone else's memoirs, but that's Ok. I'm glad you posted this one because now I know there is someone else out there that feels the same. :-}

Sagacious says,

I don't know about you, MrsP, but my mother's love was more "smother-love" and I'm not the type who handles that sort of thing particularly well.
