How did she come from me?
BackstoryMy 15 year old daughter is an awesome kid. She drives me insane, she makes me angry, she gets on my nerves, and she's a slob. She's an honor roll student, friends with everybody, and her teachers love her. For all of her immaturity, she is wise beyond her years. She is so different from what I was at her age. She got her hair cut and dyed it black. She has a lip ring. She loves animals. She isn't involved in sports, but is in the FFA. She writes poems that are worthy of being published and really hit you in the heart. She takes beautiful nature pictures that look professional. She has a great relationship, almost a friendship, with all of her teachers. She loves to be around people. Her interests are so varied.
I was a cheerleader, with long, natural hair, and only my ears pierced. My grades weren't as good as hers. I enjoyed being alone most of the time, and my teachers were just my teachers. I preferred books to animals.
Our differences allow us to learn from each other. She is not the young woman I imagined she would grow up to be. She is even better. I don't know how she came from me, but I'm glad she did.
