Most of time it does. But then sometimes you find a guy who wasn't boyfriend material but great friend material. And sometimes you find someone who makes you smile.
Yeah. I'm finding that more and more. But this memoir stemmed from tonight. Where I had made some iffy plans with a guy and they didn't pan out. Ended up not meeting him. But I have been messaging a few guys of whom are full of good conversation.
I totally agree. It sucks and my current boyfriend and I felt the same way...until we've met for the first very time. It was love at first sight...Hang in there...it happened unexpectedly! :)
Mom's secret: lots of coffee dates. Quick, low impact, low investment. If he's not the one, in 20 minutes you're out of there. Next! You do enough coffee dates, eventually you find a keeper.
It's like sales - the more no's you're willing to get, the more yeses you'll get. If you let "no" stop you, you'd better find yourself another business.
Two of my cousins and two friends also met their spouses on the internet. It does require patience and willingness to wade through a lot of losers. But you meet people you'd never find any other way.
Anyway, TAP, I saw on another post you're only 18. Take your time ... you have plenty of it! Enjoy all of it, the good and the bad ... lots to learn, at any age.
I admire all of you who put yourselves out there...I wish you love...sincerely. I am choosing to live vicariously through my girlfriends bad internet dates, and put my trust in fate...and faith.
Mid fifties, married thirty years. My husband has sweetly asked me to try to outlive him, because he doesn't want to face life alone.
His odds are pretty good. Both our mothers (still living!) outlived our fathers. And our grandmothers...

Agreed. Sometimes you just have to wait things out and let life run it's course.DynamicDbytheC says,
I would imagine that dating in general blows. I haven't dated in 28 years and want to keep the one I have.Skeeter1971 says,
