It's from a story I wrote last week. I am now in love with the phrase. The original phrase was "Scotch tape can't fix broken hearts." But it didn't flow because the rest of the story was more naturalistic than materialistic and modern.
Mid fifties, married thirty years. My husband has sweetly asked me to try to outlive him, because he doesn't want to face life alone.
His odds are pretty good. Both our mothers (still living!) outlived our fathers. And our grandmothers...
