"One more step, into the abyss."
Backstory
Portions of Abba Kovner's poem,"She, To Him"
"I am the wind that did not abate
I shall break through your window to encircle your face;
weeping is forbidden.
Weeping is forbidden.
Only touching your blood
with the edge of a wing.
I am unseen
and prohibited to you.
I filled your secret to overflowing;
longing for dawn,
longing for night.
Longing for laughter.
How could you travel such long
distances without me?
...Traveling all the way only to confirm that the distances are internal.
...Our love was torment. Nothing seems
clearer than to call a rose a rose
and our story love.
It is something else
to carry wordlessly
the blaze of love
one more step
into the abyss."
