Just want to be called Sugar.
Backstory
For reasons I can only guess at, I've never been an endearment kind of gal. Someone tries to call me "sweetheart" and I bristle. "Honey" really ticks me off. "Babe" reminds me of Sonny & Cher.I'm a handful, I know. I'm working on it.

Maybe it's because you don't want to be called something impersonal masquerading as a personal, endearing term. I've never been a fan of all that "honey," "baby," "sweetie," talk either. Happy to be part of the handful club!Dragonflower says,
Yay, I'm not alone! Thanks, lillybrook. The other one I don't like is "kid". Although my favorite boss called me that when I was 22. He was from Michigan and we worked at a university. Somehow I never felt put down when he said it. I think you are right about the endearing quality. I felt honored when he said it. He was kind, considerate and respectful of me. Best boss ever. !!

I've been called "baby" and "momma" (by someone I did not birth, BTW)....but the name that meant the most was my own. In that moment, I knew that it was ME being acknowledged and appreciated...and no one else. There's nothing generic about your very own name on your lover's lips.
