Stopping by woods on snowy evening.

Backstory

Thank you Robert Frost. Just thought of this poem tonight as it is cold and the pre-winter evenings are so long. It's my favorite poem that always made me wonder who owned the woods. My favorite line "he gives his harness bells a shake, to ask if there is some mistake." Smart horse! PS: I always thought of this as a love poem.

accidentaltourist says,

This poem just popped into my head the other day, while driving through a woodsy place I know and love well. I found myself wishing for the winter snow that has not yet graced my country landscape, imagining how I might stop to watch it fall in that quiet place.

Dragonflower says,

What a nice thought-filled commment. When my daughter was little, I found a beautifully illustrated children's book with just this poem. We used to read it almost every night during December. It was the peacefulness of the scene that always got me. It's nice you have a real life illustration of the poem!
