Vanished as how "he" appeared: ghostily.

Backstory

I met the young man in question only once. It took us weeks to find each other again after I lost my phone and he lost my number. Then he found me through LinkedIn and sent me an email, asking me for a date - to which I agreed. The date never happened and I never heard from him again.

I feel so weird about it that I came to believe that it was NOT him who sent me that email. My friends and I joke that he must be a secret agent who often vanishes to do his job (he works for the US military overseas) but my guess is that maybe he has a GF or wife who knows damn well how to spy?

In any case, I just sent an email to the address "he" used, expressing my doubt and asking not to be contacted ever again, should it be fake.

A little scary ...

Amapola says,

Yes, a little scary indeed- his profile in LinkedIn and his email are 'made up', but his short messages sounded very much like him, so I responded candidly, which I now regret. I can't find anything about him - he has zero virtual life.
