Backstory
A very dear old friend is having surgery today. I promised I'd come to see him before he went in, despite the complications it will cause for both of us....because although he has been making jokes about "if they kill me," I could tell he really is a little scared they actually might. And he would die not ever seeing me again.I don't think he actually believed I'd come until I walked through the door. But for what it's worth, I'm glad I went.

I can tell you that I will NEVER forget the people who showed up at our house and hospital when things were bad. I was shocked at who stuck by us and also disappointed by those who disappeared. This is something that he will NEVER ever forget. I knew I liked you.accidentaltourist says,
