Missing summertime's favorite finger food suppers.

Backstory

When my children were small and I was a single parent, we often made a meal of all the good things of summer...fruits and vegetables...that you could eat with your fingers. Cucumbers, tomatoes, and carrots with a creamy dip; peaches, plums, watermelon, berries of all kinds; and some crusty bread with Havarti or Gouda, just to say we'd had a bit of protein. They loved it. I miss being able to get away with serving "appetizers" and "peasant food" for a meal.

We still do that, and I love it. We don't call it supper, but it sure works for lunch:-)

NumbrOneAunt says,

i don't see why you can't serve this to a gathering of adults. heck, if somebody called me up and said, "i'm going to serve a light finger food "summer" supper and then described the above, i'd jump!

For the adults, NOA, there would also be wine. Or perhaps my signature white wine sangria....perfect for summer.

NumbrOneAunt says,

GO FOR IT! and what time does the party start, by the way? :)
