Actually brownies from a box are the closest to home-made of all the packaged mixes. Add walnuts and raisins...heavenly! My favorite, Ghirardelli, Extra Dark.

There is never going to be a box mix of anything that is better than a great homemade recipe. However, box mixes are better than what comes out of a cellophane package. That being said, ghiradelli is as close as you can come.
