order your favorite kind of takeout and watch your favorite movie. If you're in the market for a movie recommendation, mine is "the princess bride". whatever you decide to do i hope you shake your blahs quickly!
Light some candles. While I don't have the weather you do, lillybrook, it does get dark and cloudy here. I have white Christmas lights on my plants and on room divider for these dark days. And the candles always help me feel cheerier--might be difficult though with your small ones! But maybe in a safe place. I have one in the kitchen, near the sink for when I do dishes and cook.
The Princess Bride is a wonderfully whimsical movie. If you're genuinely down with winter blues, try a plant light- full spectrum light. You can find them pretty much anywhere in the garden section.
The Princess Bride was mentioned frequently on my memoir about favorite movies--here it is again! I'm going to rent it today. BTW, I changed my screen name today from Autumn22. (But you and I will always be 22 sisters, lillybrook! I said it before too, but I mean it!)
Autumn22 -- cool new name! And we WILL always be 22 sisters. It's not so much blues, Dean6805, as "blah... just let me lay on the couch, take naps, and never go outside." My solution today was to go to a HS hockey game and support my students. It was really fun. Then, this evening, we went to a birthday party which -- if I hadn't gotten out to the hockey game -- I might have skipped, simply because I lacked momentum. It, too, was fantastic and we saw old friends and met new people and had a great time.
So, basically, I just faked it until I made it. And it turned into an excellent day. Snowing again now, though, so I am back in pjs at home. And, I'll probably look into some Princess Bride, while I am at it. LOVE that movie!
And MO_Thoughts2 -- cookies are an excellent idea, too.
I wonder how those in Boston and NYC are managing winter blahs -- the snow has been INCREDIBLE there this weekend!
