Wench says,

This is going to sound awful, but it's fresh in my mind... The sound of my three nieces and one nephew thudding across the floor above me just as my son is about to fall asleep for his nap. Living with my parents, this has been happening a lot and while I absolutely adore my nieces and nephew and love seeing them, it is really frustrating not being able to get my baby to nap because they're so dang loud.

lillybrook says,

Eech... that sounds tough. When it's your own house, you can turn off the ringer, put a note by the bell, curl up with a book and let the baby nap. That sounds like a frustrating noise!

marymc says,

Snoring makes me violent.

accidentaltourist says,

H...and yet, the sound of one man across from me in a quiet room, slurping soup or cereal, sets my teeth on edge.

Believe says,

The blender.

lillybrook says,

The sound of my officemate eating *crunch* nuts *crack* made me kind of nauseous today. Eating is a terrible sound.

ba_miracle says,

the constant noise I've had in my ears for the last several years.

Dragonflower says,

Using a stainless steel spoon on a stainless steel pan. Or scraping your teeth against a fork (non plastic).

marymc says,

Oh, and tuneless humming. And birds chirping. And the strangled bark of my maltipoo. And packing tape being used from one of those dispenser guns.

ctgoods2 says,

could be set into a fresh hellish rage by hearing the food in someone else's mouth being chewed (or slurped, swished, crunched, popped, gargled, etc).

Dean6805 says,

I was reminded just today by one of our special needs kids: gritting teeth. Shudder.

JAD says,

Rubbing or scratching something rusty.

lillybrook says,

Yikes! I read your responses and get ickies all up and down my spine. There are so many everyday sounds that make us appreciate the good ones. Maybe we should switch to those: Sound or noise you love? I'll answer first -- my toddler's laughter. Or her sleeping breath at night.

ba_miracle says,

Always loved my daughter's giggle and now when she says "Mamma" in whatever tone she chooses. < She will be 23 next month. "Mamma" = Good / "Motheeeer" = Bad.
My friends when they laugh but one of my dearest, Alejandra has the kind of laugh that made me adore her in the first place.

Used to crave the sound (especially when the top was down) of the blower kicking in on the '03 Cobra SVT > it gave the term "winding out" a whole meaning and was the car that made me begin to appreciate modern muscle.

I have always enjoyed loud music (most likely culprit of the ear "ringing" ;-)

BanjoDan says,

Jackhammers outside my office window

DynamicDbytheC says,

Motor vehicles. When I was in Venice, I didn't realize how much the sound of vehicles affect us. I loved the quiet.
Leaf blowers.

Bevvie says,

popping gum!

Sagacious says,

The kettle continuously whistling in my ears.
