What's up with taking bathroom company?

Backstory

I have never understood why some women bring other women along with them when they have to pee. On the few occasions where someone has asked me to come with them, I've awkwardly tried to examine the floor tiles the entire time. I don't get it.

Can someone explain?

L2L3 says,

The only reasonable rationale for doing that is if there's no latch on the door and you need a human door latch/guard.

accidentaltourist says,

My question is, why would you go if you don't have to "go"? I only go along if I have to use the facilities myself. However, I offer another option for the invitation: they don't want to leave the boyfriend with a wandering eye alone with the cute girlfriend, even for a minute.

L2L3 says,

Then there are those folks that insist that you go into the restroom just to have a look around. Ha!

maryjane31 says,

It can mean that the person who suggest you join them in the ladies room has something important to tell you. Or perhaps wants to tell you she hates her date and wants to escape, and needs you to help her climb out the window. Hey, don't laugh, can happen.

L2L3 says,

SOME people just convince you to go look at the bathroom. Who can resist when it's compared to an Alice-in-Wonderland?

Wench says,

Hahahaha ok, touche. But that bathroom was bizarre! I was honestly a little alarmed at first!
