Loon says,

maybe (sorry)

Sagacious says,

My thoughts on this are that lying is an act of commission, whereas omission is simply not saying something that could be said. My simple answer is 'no'.

jl333 says,

Kinda, sorta. But since you said 'please', 'No'

MO_Thoughts2 says,

Maybe ... depends.

marymc says,

My in-laws are in Florida for the winter. Hubby brought me, his daughters and one daughter's boyfriend to Florida for a weeks vacation (the kids were here 4 days). We didn't tell Joan we are here. If she knew, we would be expected to NOT stay in Miami Beach at a nice resort, we would be expected to spend every day sitting in their condo in Royal Palm. We would have to listen to her bitch about every little detail of everything we were doing wrong, which is everything. So we didn't tell her. Everyone has been warned to not mention anything about this on Facebook. No pictures. We have been completely paranoid the whole week that she will find out. Were we wrong? We weren't wrong... were we?

maryjane31 says,

You were not wrong at all. You deserve to enjoy yourself at a nice resort. Is this the MIL who makes that marvelous soup?

marymc says,

The very same.

canadafreeze says,

You were on vacation. It is a circumstantial omission to protect your sanity.

Loon says,

in this case, NO

MO_Thoughts2 says,

Vacation exempts you.

Believe says,

She doesn't own the state.

DynamicDbytheC says,

If it is done for good reason to spare the other person, absolutely not. You are doing a good deed.
