'Mangia mangia' is the first word/s my Aussie husband (now long time ex) learned in my loud Italian family. He learned early on that there was no point is saying he wasn't hungry....
We love feeding everyone - it's. good thing!

marymc says,

It's also a Jewish thing. And a farm-girl thing.

Dhani says,

Mary -so right on, that's why I think Jews & 'dagos' (I'm throwing an insulting word back & making it 'OK') sense an affinity for one another. And farm cooking! A long table laden with the delicious, nutricious things of the earth, where large platters of home-cooked (not fast food 'mierda') are offered to a hungry ranch crew. Ate at that table once in Oregon, felt like I was in an Andrew Wyeth painting.

jl333 says,

city girls love to eat too.
