Love my name; my parents couldn't agree on my name so my grandma offered a great suggestion. and I still feel a connection with her even though she died a long while ago.
I love my name and always have. I have a name that is rare. When I went to Catholic school, many girls were Mary, Mary Ann, Mary Claire, Mary Beth, Mary Sue and an occasional Marie. I liked being unique and still do. Not many women are named Dynamic, teehee.
It's not unique...but I like to think that I am. It doesn't really suit a...ahem..."mature" individual...but I'm okay with that. And it's pretty forgettable....which means I intend never to be.
I like my name - the sound, origin, meaning. They all fit. I don't like when people call me Alex, since to me it's a completely different name. My parents and some friends call me Lexi which is fine, but I also don't like when people I don't know very well or am not fond of call me that. I don't use nicknames unless they're preferred. My husband, son and I all have three syllables in our names and we all use our full names.
I grew to love it as an adult. When I was a teen I wanted to be called Kathy but then, when I grew up, I realized that a lot of people called themselves Kathy but not as many called themselves Kathleen :-)
My name is Keetah. My middle name is Anastasia. I usually joke that it took me until third grade to spell my own name. I also tell the story of my 'hippie' mother and the book she read during pregnancy, subsequently naming me after the "Native Princess".
I DREAMED of being Jessica or Jennifer as a young girl! Spent many
moments pretending that I was Maria or Susan.
Now I cherish name. I gave my daughter a unique name and spelling, passing on the gift my mother gave me. This identifier that no one else on any path I've ever crossed has.
I have a very unique name, and yes, I love my name! However, most people have taken to shorten my name weather I like it or not--hence you get JL. So it's kind of what I go by now, since that's what everybody calls me!
I like my name fine until someone calls me "Dale." It happens a lot. How can you screw up a 4-letter name that sounds nothing like "Dale" except for that initial consonant? Makes me want to say things like "Oh, your name is Shirley? I'll call you Sh*tty. How's that? Close enough?"
Anyway, my first name is my father's middle name; my middle name is my uncle's first name.
I love my name, Alexandria. But everyone pronounces it "AlexanDRA" everyone forgets the "i" I disliked it when I was younger but now I like it. I hate the name Alex for girls. Everyone calls me 'Allie' which I like very much.
Tanya and I came to appreciate it. When I moved to the South, suddenly it sounded different and I came to accept that too ;-). My friends call me Red, T, Tawny, Tawny girl, Miracle or Sister.

There is nothing fancy about my name but I've always liked it and it seemed to fit me - Juliel8leigh says,
It's okay. I share it with my mom, so it's not unique, but because we share our first name, I'm called by my middle name, which IS unique.accidentaltourist says,
