It depends. I guess I don't really like when people have misconceptions of me and dislike me based on them, but there aren't a ton of people whose opinion I really care about.
My daughter learned in kindergarten something it took me much longer to understand and accept. After weeks of playground "torment" at the hands of another little girl, I told her to ask the perpetrator why she didn't like her. The answer: because I don't have to.
Rarely. I have been known to act ways that are unpopular and am at peace with how others may perceive my behavior as "stand offish" or "rude".
An example would be... making it clear in a business meeting that we were not going to discuss the details of one of our co-workers personal lives to pass the time. (You would have thought I farted LOUDLY:-)
The real trouble comes when I don't like myself so I strive to be a decent human being and to treat other people decently.
On occasion it is an honor for someone NOT to like you so always consider the source.
Someone didn't like ... Gandhi, Martin Luther King, John Lennon and so many other outstanding human beings. Would it matter if the killers of any of those me didn't like you?
Now if The Dali Lama thought I was an ass? His opinion may deserve some consideration.
Never! If someone doesn't like me they don't matter in my life. I'm a tattooed weirdo, so honestly I find it amusing when people don't like me.

It's taken some time, but I'm at a place where I don't need people to like me. It's nice if they do, but I don't lose sleep over it if they don't.KharisJo says,
Not really. I do treat people with respect and courtesy and expect to be treated the same, which is different from liking, especially at work.marymc says,
I realize that I'm an acquired taste, and I'm ok with that.accidentaltourist says,

There is a lid for every pot...if someone doesn't like me, maybe we are just not a good fit. Keep it civil and keep it movin' is what I say.JAD says,
Try not to let them get to me. Won't change their opinion anyway. Half the time they don't even know why they don't like you.Hannahmo says,
It bothers me when someone doesn't like me but I try to not let them get to me. Love all the comments! :)MsKillie says,
