I would've made an excellent in-law.

Backstory

When I found out I was pregnant with my youngest daughter, her father ended our dating relationship and -- after intermittently spending time with his daughter -- is absent from our lives. In spite of this, I've connected with my daughter's grandparents, and they visit us when they come to town to see their son and other grandchildren. We have so much in common and truly enjoy each others' company, in addition to (of course) absolutely loving on the toddler child that brought us together a couple of years ago. I am grateful for the part they play in our lives, even if I am not a part of their family.

This is a really beautiful story. You would have made a great in-law. I am curious as to how his parents feel about his "bailing out"? I know how I would feel if my son did that. It is great that you have a good relationship with the parents and more wonderful for your precious daughter. I really liked this K822.

You ARE a great "in-law" and you ARE a part of their family. Blood means way more than a piece of paper.
